"A group of diabolists, about 150 strong, moved into the plains surrounding the coastal village of Radgarm. About a week ago, villagers noted strange lights emanating from the ruined fort that the cult took residence in during the night. The next morning, a diabolist ran into the village, heavily wounded and burned, spouting gibberish. It is the Church of Rydarr's assumption that the cultists attempted to summon and bind an unholy entity, and were unable to completely subjugate it. The Church of Rydarr, unfortunately not blessed with paladins, requires assistance in purifying whatever unholy devil or demon the cultists may have summoned. Attached is a writ of deputization by the Orinari Civil Guard, in effect until 07/01/1251, authorizing you to detain, assault, or kill any members of the cult and/or the source of their misfortune. The Church will provide healing services, free of charge, upon completion of the contract, and offers 15,000 gold in bank notes for fallen colleagues and compatriots in solemn mourning.
May the Lady of the Land walk with you always,
-Cardinal Voss Eger"

The party arrived in Radgarm, and found that the Church had taken the diabolist who'd escaped whatever carnage had occurred into custody, slowly healing his wounds. Despite being out of his mind, he still provided a disguise for Bovo and a small prayer book that the rogue pilfered when nobody was looking. Leaving Jor'n and Sarren to acquire information, Bovo snuck off to the cultist's base of operations, and found it in ruins.
A small army of imps, apparently unbound and vengeful, were attacking a cultist that had sealed himself and some kind of rectangular building inside a magical barrier. As Bovo watched, the cultist was overpowered, and a huge imp began pounding on the building's doors, apparently trying to gain access. Noting the bodies of the other cultists littered around the ruined fort, Bovo made his way back to Radgarm to convey what he'd seen.
We ended here, and plan to pick back up this Friday.
